Poor Anna has had a fever since the 23rd – it’s been 5 days now and it’s still there. She also has a horrible cough that keeps her up at night and makes her gag. I feel SO SO bad for her, but we saw the doc (on Christmas no less!) and it’s just a nasty virus we need to wait out. Yuck. Well we had plenty of Christmas festivities despite the sickness, I just hope and pray we didn’t spread it to anyone!
Here we are at the Bytheway Christmas Eve party…Anna kept putting her arms around me and Ben so we thought we’d snap a picture.

If you ever want to know where Molly is, just find one of her Aunties! They love to snatch her up whenever we get together. Like the orange face left by the tomato soup she had for dinner?

Here is Anna playing with her new legos!

This is a piggy bank from Great grandma By – I think this pic is so funny!

Christmas morning at home was lots of fun. Santa was VERY good to us and the girls are well stocked with new toys.
Anna loves her new kitchen – the best part is the highchair, she is always feeding her babies.

Molly isn’t even old enough to “get” Christmas – but she was beyond happy when she woke up that morning nonetheless!

Santa left her a ball in her stocking and she couldn’t get enough of it.

Yup, Molly knows what presents are for – to climb on!

Sitting with Grandma on Christmas with her favorite decoration – a bell. The first thing Anna does when we go over is give Molly a bell.

Here’s Anna putting her gift from Auntie Liz to good use – giving Daddy a shot!

This is what happens when you give a 2 year old a See’s chocolate.

Ben’s mom framed this gorgeous doily that Ben’s great grandma had crocheted when she was in her 90’s. It will look fabulous hung in my purple dining room!

Anna playing with her present from Grandma

And Molly playing with….the paper, lol.

I’m sure Ben is so happy that I am announcing to the internet that he turned 30 last week. He chose to go to Carino’s for dinner and it was yummy. We celebrated with his family with a birthday cake from Backer’s – only the best pastry shop in the valley. From me he received the 6th volume of the Loony Toons Golden collection, to complete his set. This past week we celebrated again, but this time in the form of a surprise birthday party for him and his high school buddy, Jeff. Unfortunately I couldn’t keep the secret from Ben, but he had fun anyway. Enjoy these pictures from that night!
Here is our group: Jessica, Robert and kids Emily and Lindsey; Me, Ben and Molly (Anna was sick and spent the evening with grandma); Troy, Hilary and kids Ellie, Mary and Sadie; Jeff, Julie and kids Cameron and Katie.

Here is Ben blowing out the candle – don’t you love Molly’s face? She WANTS THAT CAKE!

Here is the other birthday boy, Jeff with his wife Julie and son Cameron.

Last weekend, on the 13th of December, my little sister Ruthanna was married in the Palmyra Temple. I was able to attend and act as bridesmaid and I was so happy to be there. Ben stayed back in UT with the girls, and not only did he keep them alive, but he cleaned the house too!
Don’t be fooled by the apparent sunshine – it was 20 degrees with a 5 degree wind chill that day!
Presenting Mr and Mrs David Daines!

Doesn’t my cousin Matt look like he’s having SO much fun???

It was great to see my cousin Jamie and his wife! It had been 4 years, since THEY were married!

My little brother is going to break some serious hearts.

How dare they cut into that gorgeous cake!!!

I have some CRAZY cousins!

I think I inherited my dancing skills from the mother…

It was a challenge to find all of those pictures to post, since most of my pictures look like this….

Yep, I have way more pics of her profile than her face. BUT isn’t she gorgeous?

We took these pictures of Molly while decorating the tree.

And I was wondering, do they remind you of anything????

We LOVE LOVE LOVE our tree. Well really, who doesn’t love their tree? We always get a Noble Fur from the same tree lot every year. It smells so good and looks gorgeous! We have so much fun decorating it with sentimental ornaments and of course, colored lights! It is nearly impossible to capture the beauty of a lit up Christmas tree in the dark of the evening, the camera just doesn’t do it justice. But here are our attempts anyway!
Anna had SO much fun putting ornaments on the tree. We let her put the kid-friendly ones on the bottom half, and all the breakable ones are on the top half. It looks a little funny, but it works!

I had to laugh – Anna put a whole bunch of ornaments right in the same spot on the tree. We had to constantly remind her to try different places on the tree!

Here is the tree all completed!

Here is a section that looks a little brighter – no flash – none of the pics like this of the entire tree looked good enough to post.

There you have it! Merry Christmas from the Bytheways!

I love this time of year! It is so much fun to get together with friends and family. I wish it were easier to see both of our families at Christmas. I have friends who would say we are lucky not to have to “share time” but still, I wish it didn’t have to be this way. ALTHOUGH…stay posted, I was in NY with my family last weekend!
On to the Christmas parties…
Here is Anna with her friend Audrey, they always have a blast playing with each other.

Last night we went to the Johnson Christmas party, and man, it was crazy!! It was a lot of fun to see family who we don’t get to see often, and the girls really enjoyed themselves.
Here’s Molly with her Auntie Lisa

And with her Auntie Emily

Anna with Ben

All 4 of us! In one place! With someone ELSE holding the camera! A miracle.

I think Molly’s face looks really funny. She was chewing on her present.

Anna LOVES her new jammies. If only I could teach her how to smile naturally…

For Molly, the wrapping paper was way more interesting than the jammies.

The girls in their jammies…I have to say I am pleased with this picture.

Anna and her cousins Emily and Lauren, all matching! So cute.

Every now and then Ben or I make a tasty treat and he brings some to work to share. His co-workers do the same. They have fun showing off their skills and of course, pigging out on yummy treats. Last week they decided to have a bake-off, so Ben made this beautiful and even yummier chocolate pecan pie. I’m so glad he knows how to make it because Mimi’s stopped selling theirs!

Back in November we got a coupon bag in the paper that offered $10 off dinner at Carino’s PLUS a free pound of uncooked pasta. Never wanting to turn down a super affordable dinner out, we went there on a date. The food was good, the price was great, but the thing that struck us the most was how NICE the waiter was. He brought an extra salad for free. He was attentive but not annoying. The service was fast and we just had a great time. I assumed it was just the guy that had been assigned to our table – maybe he’s just a really nice guy or was having a good night. Surely it can’t be like that every time. Well we went back tonight with another of those same coupon bags (Boo it was our last one!) and what do you know! The server was just as nice, if not even more so! Same free salad (Ben and I like to split an entree), same friendly and prompt service. He also brought a free italian creme soda for Anna, saying it was just one of Ben’s free refills AND he brought her dinner out first, just minutes after we made the order! Their food is good – not the best Italian I’ve ever had, but good. I’m just so impressed with the service there I’ll definitely be going back.

I finally have the Thanksgiving pictures on the computer. It was a great weekend, my sister Liz came from San Fransisco (as is tradition now) and Ruthanna was even here for some of the weekend too. Although she lives with us she spends every weekend in Willard with her fiance, as it should be. My girls have great Aunties, and they love them so much!
The girls with Liz…

Anna playing around with Ruthie…

I guess Anna did something that Ruthie found very funny…

My friend linked me to this site and I thought I would pass the word along.
http://www.handmadetoyalliance.org/
This site specifically talks about toys, but the act includes ALL children’s goods aimed for children under 12. This would include cloth diapers. It makes me sick to think that all those work at home moms out there who make awesome custom cloth diapers for moms like me would be forced to close shop. I HATE it when the government gets in the way of a free market. Enough already!!!!
