I told my Mom I’d blog about this so she could see what I was telling her about. My lovely and talented sister in law Emily taught me how to knit so I could make this cute diaper soaker for Molly. If you aren’t familiar with cloth diapering with wool, this is a waterproof cover that goes over the diaper. It becomes waterproof by lanolizing it. It was an easy pattern to follow, and I think it turned out really cute.
You can find the free pattern here

Here’s a pic of my completed soaker. Check back soon, I’m working on another one :)

June is a month full of birthdays for the Bytheway sisters! First up is Emily, then I’m a couple weeks later, then finally Lisa and Laura. We love all the excuses for good food, parties and presents! Thank you everyone who wished me a happy day and sent thoughtful cards and gifts :) You all truly made it a special day!
On the twin’s big day, we all went to Tracy Aviary. It’s a large bird park located in even larger Liberty Park in SLC. It was my first time there, and I was impressed! Next time I’d like to make it for a bird show though. We missed the bird shows, but made it just in time for dinner. (Don’t worry, I’ll spare you all the picture of a vulture ripping into a cute little white bunny).
Enjoy the pictures…

Cute Molly in our new stroller that I LOVE. Get a Joovy Ultralight!

A not-so-great pic of our group (minus me, I’m holding the camera!)

Anna was fascinated by this Peacock. We had to continue to remind her to keep some distance, and when I asked her to turn for a picture, she stuck out her tongue. Well….that’s my girl!

The past couple months have been full of outings and play dates with friends! I’m a lucky girl to have so many good friends, and Anna and Molly love playing with their friends too! Here are some highlights.
In May we went to Wheeler Farm. We love Wheeler Farm – it’s close, free and has lots of animals! The girls always have fun.
Here’s a shot of the group.

Anna walking with one of her best friends, Audrey.

In June a huge group of us got together at my house. It was awesome! I finally got to meet one friend who lives out of state (Whitney – far right in this pic).

Here’s Anna swinging with friends Emily and Lindsey.

And here’s cute Molly pushing around her baby stroller, wearing her hat from Aunt Ruthie and Uncle David!

Last week we went to This Is The Place Historical Park with a smaller group of friends. There was free admission, ice cream, train rides and pony rides. What a fun day!
Molly and friend Anna-banana (not to be confused with my Anna-bug) at the playhouses there.

Anna riding a pony all by herself!

We are now the proud owners of a brand new 2009 Toyota Tacoma. Ben wanted it as a commuter vehicle for work, and to haul things for the garden. So to save some money on the price tag and future fill-ups, it’s a 5-speed manual 4 cylinder 2 wheel drive version. And we love it :)
It has an “Access Cab” for extra passengers…

And the girls love hanging out in the back too!

So there you have it. Any suggestions for a name?

I’m a bad mom – this is over a month overdue. Sorry! Here’s a recap of the happy event, anyway!
Molly’s bday fell on a Sunday, so we held her big family party on Saturday. We were so happy that Ben’s grandparents were able to come. Ruthie and David came down from Ogden (we LOVE that they live so close!) and Liz and Jon even flew out from San Fransisco! It was the first time we’d met Jon (officially) and it was about time! It was so much fun having them visit!

Molly had a blast opening her gifts! Everyone was so generous, THANK YOU!

Here are the cakes I made her:

And a birthday blog would not be complete without pics of Molly doing serious damage to her cake!

2 days ago we were running around in capris and sandals. TODAY….it snows! We took advantage of this late winter storm and built a snowman for Family Night. Anna had a blast and Molly was NOT thrilled.
Note the carrot nose – we dug it up from last year’s garden!

Molly calmed down and enjoyed a few turns on the slide.

This is what I found one afternoon when I went up to my bedroom during nap time. Earlier I had heard Anna escape from her room, but I assumed she had just come out to use the potty, or get some water. I was busy doing laundry and when I made it back upstairs she had returned to her room already. But…this is Anna, after all, my very particular 2 year old. She had decided it was necessary to leave her room during nap time to hang all of Molly’s new socks on Ben’s wastebasket. I guess the thought of them in a disorganized pile in the hallway was enough to keep her from falling asleep.

The bows came! The bows came! They are so cute. They are all custom to match dresses I have for the girls this summer.
Here are the bows – yes that is Molly’s hand reaching in to grab one. I did manage to get a pic without her hand, but I think this picture is just too cute not to post.

Here they are with their matching dresses.
2 bows for Anna’s piggies and 1 bow for the top of Molly’s little head! The dresses are gifts from Auntie Emily, who spoils them rotten!

This is Anna’s dress, an end of season Gymbo steal last year!

A couple of Molly’s sundresses. The cute bee bum one is thanks to Grandma By! Gotta love Carter’s sundresses!
